Personality:

Quiet, reserved, and cautious, Hermia doesn't take well to new people very well. He has always been a bit of a loner, even when he was in his home universe, and often kept away from people for various reasons, including the unfortunate green growth on his face. Just because he doesn't like to talk, however, doesn't mean that he's a pushover. He's not afraid to push someone around physically if that's what it takes to get his way.

His number one priority is himself and his Pokémon. The last time he put someone before himself, it ended badly for both of them, so he just tries to cut himself away from everyone else and just be on his own. His Pokémon can take care of themselves if he flees, but they also look after him since sometimes he gets into situations over his head.

Brief History:

In Hermia's time and space, the water levels of the sea rose around Hoenn combined with a blazing heat that caused rapid climate changes, killing most of the non-tropical plants and allowing the tropical ones to spread. To make matters worse, a fungi similar to what controls Paras and Parasect found that the conditions were perfect to spread beyond the shells of old bug Pokémon. It spread to the healthy Bug and Grass Pokémon, the plants, the water, and soon it was a full blown epidemic. Many Pokémon that were infected were abandoned, as well as people, due to their unpredictable behavior, and soon towns filled with healthy citizens and Pokémon were sealed off from the surrounding routes filled with the contaminated.

Hermia was a naturally curious child and often found ways out of the sealed off Petalburg City, and ended up getting infected when exploring. To prevent contagion, Hermia was exiled, despite that he showed no signs of infection other than the growth appearing on the left side of his face. With only a Beldum as protection, Hermia ended up moving to Petalburg Woods and has remained there ever since, keeping minimum contact with other Pokémon and people outside the city walls. He found some old gardening tools, fixed them up, and started running a small garden near a massive tree in the middle of the woods, living in peace and quiet since the fungi-infected inhabitants did not see to bother him, since he was now one of them. He traded with humans who were also infected and happily is known as 'The Gardener' since most people will try to come to him for food

Miscellaneous:

The fungal infection that Hermia and his Pokemon carry will not spread in Celestic Town to its inhabitants and wildlife since the conditions such as the heat and water provided in Hermia's time and place are not present. The infection will, however, continue to live inside them and may occasionally cause problems. Hermia wears the gas mask to prevent further exposure to the fungal infeciton, which is air born in Petalburg Woods due to the variety of plant life.

Personality: Incredibly quiet and still, some people assume that Sassafras is just a statue of a Metang, or one that is no longer alive. However, if Hermia calls Sassafras will come charging blindly into battle literally. When the fungi managed to take over its central core, Sassafras went blind. It is fiercely loyal to Hermia and will fight until it is in pieces if necessary.

Brief History: Hermia's first Pokemon. Sassafras was a gift from a family friend to Hermia on his tenth birthday as a Beldum, and has remained by Hermia's side ever since.

Personality: Persnickety and strange, Jimbu is also skittish and a coward. He will not think twice to save his own skin, unless Hermia is involved. He is a danger to others when the fungi takes over, however, and is prone to random fits of destruction and anger. Hermia calms him down by petting the large mushroom on his back, whether it's by hand, or by rake from a safe distance.

Brief History: Jimbu was originally just a regular Paras until the fungi took over. Over many years he slowly turned into a Parasect. After some more years of wandering, it was then he ran into Hermia and started following him around, and has been Hermia's companion ever since.
