Aww dang thank you so much felixengine. This book/character/image has over the years grown to mean more to me than I can even express. John Steakley had so much more to offer this world. Thanks for the good words, makes me want to do more Armor stuff.

Man. I tries drawing the ants with how they are described. Oof they are hard. Lol. Tis difficult to draw the swarming masses and thousands and how freaky they are. Human skull heads with mandibles. Etc.

Dammit, why'd they make a movie out of Vampire$ instead of Armor?

Yeah I also heared that rumor.Hollywood is pathetic, why the hell are they remaking a 15 year old film.
The book is nothing like film, the only simillarity is in the name.
In the book the mobile infrantry is armed with power armor, guns firing homing missiles as bullets and micro nuclear warheads.Onean destroy can trooper an entire city.Unfortunatly the battles are boring and very few.The book is more about fascism and it's effect on peoples lifes.Henlein couldn't describe a battle scene to save his life.

Yeah, well at least we'll hopefully have a novel adaptation that even have powered armor. High-budget military sci-fi movies are exceptionally hard to find these days. Instead, we are overrun with faggotry such as Twilight...

PlasticToySoldier In reply to Konjur [2011-05-29 07:56:54 +0000 UTC]
oh, well Steakley passed away in 2010 i believe. don't remember the date. but it was somewhat recent. he had started writing it. he had some notes and the like. but dies before he could finish. it was talked about whether his notes left behind would be sufficient to have some one else write the novel , but it was later decided there wouldn't be a sequel and was left at that. so whatever notes he has probably wasn't enough to go off of. so sadly there wont be an armor2. so well never know what became of Crow or Felix and Crows friends who he gave the suit too(i cant remember their names). so well just have to leave it up to our imaginations to know "are you there Felix, are you there?"

so sad. I sent him my Armor fan art and he even wrote me back. Sent me signed copies of his books and even his script for Werewolve$ to do some concept stuff for. He even gave my Armor art to his publishers and was in the running to be the cover of the 25th anniversary edition. Majorly bummed but blessed that I got to chat a little with him when he was around. He even voted for me in a comic contest I was in and even left a comment for me.
RIP Steakley.

wow you are truley blessed to have talked with him while he was here. i do wish i had been as blessed as you. a signed copy, thats amazing. hold onto it, dont you let it out of your sight. but he wont be forgotten as long as we can keep him in memory and let others know of his books and how amazing they are. especially Armor, never before had i been so into a book and felt such conection to the charcters. RIP Steakley.
