I love how the colours in this seem to be desaturated, and yet the red is so vivid.

The square format works really well too.

This must be the same sculpture Dr.Giancarlo made pictures of. Am I right? Great looking piece of art. I like the square size of the photo!

He did! And he's very upset that the weather was on my side.
He took his during horrible cold weather and possibly on our only foggy day of the year!

Nice to see the same object photographed by two different people!!

Very cool pic - I like the stark contrast between the bright red and organic curves against the colorless, geometric building. I think the square frame was a good touch too.

It has a very very nice feeling to it.
Do you mind telling what sort of photoshop work you do to it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Konijntje In reply to MartheMa [2006-04-22 12:39:19 +0000 UTC]

Thinking back....I made it about a week ago...

In RAW editor: under expose, increase shadows, adjust brightness, desaturate almost all the way, and add vignette.
Open into PS and adjust Hue / Sat on blue and cyan to get the "greenish" sky...increase sat for red, increase contrast, adjust brightness again...if needed, and I think I had to do unsharp mask. Then add canvas.

MartheMa In reply to Konijntje [2006-04-22 12:41:46 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow. that sounds all complicated, but I know what most of it is
Hmm. Can I ask you something?
You know the RAW editor? I never found that.. Do you have to buy a program or something?..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Konijntje In reply to MartheMa [2006-04-22 12:50:50 +0000 UTC]

You only need to adjust your camera settings so that your are photographing in RAW.
Also, you may need to (at least I had to) update my PS (even though it was new) because it probably doesn't have the RAW editor for the newest Nikons.
If you do a google search on "RAW editor for photoshop nikon d70" or something like that you should be able to find it...that's all I did.
Let me know if you can't find it and I can try to find it later.

I am glad you submitted this one. The is the one I like the most yet of this series with the circle in the square framing. Again the red color contrast so well agains the gray building. Great job!

... exquisite... it says "defiant, confident yet graceful..."

... and it may have been a happy accident, but I really like the jet trail cutting through the frame, it adds just a touch of texture...
