Description The sad, beautiful mysterious girl in the rain wonders how the hell she got so wet when she's under an umbrella. That's probably a car about to run her over too.

So like yeah. Basically I wanted to try something a bit different, and I used a pose reference for one side of her body (the side holding the umbrella). I wanted to make it look dark and gloomy and wet.

So I made her shirt stick to her and her skin drip and basically went nuts with the white brush adding little dabs here and there. I also went nuts with the raindrop brushes.

In the end I was not happy because it was TOO dark. So I added golden glows everywhere yaaaayyy and now I am happy.

Yes. That is all. Hi.

that rain drop is on the perfect spot. i can't tell is it was meant as a tear or if it really is the rain. it matches her expression. so much going on at once and the light makes me wonder if it is someoen coming to save her or someone is going to harm her. makes u wonder how she got there and with that look you know there is a story meant ot go with it. something sad. very beautiful.

YOU NOTICED!!

It was originally a tear, but then I forgot about it really.

Well, the original thing was that she was an unwilling assassin, and has no real direction in life.
But I chose to dump that story and just made her a sad confused person with no direction.

You matched it so well. I can't get my ideas down ever like this. It always lacks details and my proportions are all off. Then again I haven't drawn in years. I need to start again. I'm hoping to buy a program so I can draw on the comp. I always had a weird thing about using paper. The whole it's killing trees thing. Plus on the comp it's less messy and I can adjust the drawing better and add more details with effects.

In my mind using photo preference is nothing but good thing to do. It helps u to learn and understand anatomy better when you use real-life preference.

This very dynamic pick with her pose and car lights coming from the back. You also did good work with the rain. It self it looks good, but also the soaked clothes, wet skin and hair look good and make this piece work well as whole. It's good that u put so much attention to all of those things.

And i gotta say the hand that holds umbrella really looks good ^^

Aha! This exactly what it's been like for the past two weeks. Dark and wet. Ah November with your constant record breaking rainfalls.

November and the spring months are when we get the most rain. But November tends to our storm season. in 2006 we basically had a hurricane roll through and the entire south coast was out of power for three days minimum.

It's a cool concept and you definetly got the rainy, wet feel to work. The backlighting is also a really neat approach.

Wow, this is great! I like the effect with the skin-sticking clothes and the glowing lights and the raindrops. They all look very good, and so does the pose. It looks kind of like she's posing to a camera but her right hand and turned head makes it look like she's a bit lost (like you said, as if she's thinking "how the hell I got so wet?").

One thing though; I'm not sure if there's another light source in front of her since her upper body is reflecting some light as well, though there are no streetlights or so. I mean that if the headlights are the only bigger light source there ought to be a deeper shadow in her hair, chest and arms instead of light. But all in all, the picture is awesome!

Yeah. Though she is more toned then me. But her hair looks like mine, so do her eyes, and her bone stricture. Though I don't have cloths like her and the shade of lips are similar. Of course I find her more beautiful because she is a drawing in that more animate art style. I always wind a more animate art style better looking then real life. Guess that sounds strange huh.
