It's been almost a year since the divorce.And I don't know what else I can say
except that I wish you'd been different.
I wish you hadn't fallen for her [again].
I wish I could stop hearing her name.
I wish I could stop hearing yours.
It's cold here.
As cold as I remember.
And I wish to be on the coast again.
Where the sea washes away
all
my
thoughts
and the sun bleaches the scars from my skin.
And it's quiet here.
There isn't any music.
Or dancing.
Or writing.
But I want to write again.
I want to write about something,
anything but heartbreak.
But I'm scared.
Because the last happy thing I wrote
was shoved down my throat
and it suffocated my insides.
And now I know what it's like
to fall in love with a writer.
