I've wanted to make this for a while, but I was struggling with how to create the outer surface of the tube. I could have used a simple texture with transparency and a normal map to give the illusion of surface detail, but I wasn't fully satisfied with that option.

Instead, I experimented with projecting 3D meshes onto surfaces and found a technique that works quite well. Once that was out of the way, I moved onto the details of the hatch and adjusting lighting and emission inside the tube, then finally added the character.

In all, I am quite pleased with how this turned out.

This may be used in the future on another project I am working on. I won't say much here, but it involves unreal engine. So you better get ready!
