Description Flamecrest birds (Regulus goodfellowi), also known as the Taiwan Firecrest or Firecrest Kinglet, is found almost exclusively on the island of Taiwan. The bird on the right is a male, and the one on the left is female. You can tell the difference since the male has a raised crest that has a splash of red on it. The female's is only a yellow stripe along her head that does not rise like the male's do. They prefer the high evergreen forests where they can forage for bugs to eat. They are only about 3 1/2" tall  and are one of the smallest birds on the island.

I used Tombow markers on a thin moleskine sketchbook I have, which doesn't really accept the marker too well (as you can tell by the streaking), but the colors still highly vibrant. They were fun to draw since they have such fat bodies and stick their butts up in the air when looking around on a branch. :3

I have a comprehensive list of plants/animals that not everyone has heard of, and I wanted to draw them and share some tidbits of knowledge about them.
