Description
Essentially the Culture's most advanced dedicated warship (so I've called it a General Offensive Unit, as the avatar of another ship does, although it is publicly classed as a mere 'picket ship').

Described loosely (in Surface Detail) as 'elongatedly ellipsoidal', the ship can separate into components along planes radiating from the centre-line, like slices of fruit (hence the eightfold rotational symmetry).
