Got here from an comment of yours in a GW2 reddit thread. Is there any way to make it grab the ip address GW2.exe is connecting to? I run in WvW a lot and the servers change with each map.Β

Managed to figure out that the actual map IP's for WvW are static throughout the week, so in theory I could just update those IP's once a week. Now I've run into another problem, I can't actually PING those IP's. Not even with cmd.exe ping commands. I get a timeout. I know for a fact those are the IP's however (using -maploadinfo and /ip). Any ideas?

In theory, a developer could use Libpcap , the network packet capture library that WireShark uses, to get the IPs that GW2 connects to and ping them.
I did a trace route (command prompt: tracert) of map IPs and see that they are hosted on Amazon EC2 . Most of the entire AWS is configured to not respond to pings for security reasons. I can't ping any closer than where my ISP connects to AWS. AWS is vast, so there is no meaningful way to get even an approximate ping of the servers unless Anet allows it.

In the numbered Name# meters, make sure that you are changing the numbers in Group=# and Text=#Name ## to correspond to the number of the meter.
[Name4]
Meter=String
MeterStyle=sNum | sName
Group=4
Text=#Name4#

Right-click > Edit skin
Make these changes to the numbered Num... meters of choice:
[Num1]
Text=#Name1 #
;MouseOverAction=...
;MouseLeaveAction=...(Add Text=#Name # and comment out MouseOver/LeaveAction)π: 0 β©: 2

In Ping.ini:
[sName]
X=13
Y=r
Padding=
StringAlign=LeftCenter(Add a new style to the Styles section)
Make these changes to the numbered Num... meters of choice:
[Num1]
;MouseOverAction=...
;MouseLeaveAction=...
Add this meter below each Num... meter (order is important)
[Name1]
Meter=String
MeterStyle=sNum | sName
Group=1
Text=#Name1 #If you need more space for long names, modify the graph width:
[Variables]
...
GraphW=120
In Ping.lua:
function Update()
Β Β for i = 1, active do
Β Β Β Β ...
Β Β Β Β if p ~= ping[i] then
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β SKIN: Bang('[!SetOption Dot'..i..' ImageTint '..tint[p]..'][!SetOption Num'..i..' FontColor '..tint[p]..'][!SetOption Name'..i..' FontColor '..tint[p]..'][!UpdateMeterGroup '..i..']')
Β Β Β Β Β Β ping[i] = p
Β Β Β Β end
Β Β end

end(Modify SKIN: Bang... and remove the if...elseif below it, no space in SKIN: Bang (dang emoticons))

Hi, may i know how can i create different "group" of address as shown in your picture above?

killall-q In reply to deep3lue [2017-01-27 04:26:11 +0000 UTC]
You would need to create copies of Ping's folder in "Documents\Rainmeter\Skins", then refresh Rainmeter.

Hi, the ping meter is defaulting to 206 ping when It usually used to show 70 ping as my lowest. I've done ping tests and it is in fact not above 200 ping. Please help!

Check the ping meter's settings to see if it's pinging an IP with servers near you, e.g. Google DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) has servers worldwide.

JamieFairbairn In reply to killall-q [2016-12-19 00:50:54 +0000 UTC]
The current IP address is set to 8.8.8.8 and it is still showing more ping than I really do. I tried 8.8.4.4 but no difference. I've been using the same IP address for ages and it's been fine up until now.

It does not ping external IPs, only internal. The documentation on plug in says it should. Thoughts?

killall-q In reply to wanttolearnmore [2017-01-03 20:55:20 +0000 UTC]
Are you able to ping those IPs from command prompt?
It's unlikely for there to be an issue with the skin or the plugin for something as basic as pinging. You may need to add a firewall exception (inbound and outbound) for Rainmeter.

Thanks

Right-click menu > Add ping meter
If you want to monitor more than 10 IPs:
- Make more copies of [mPing#] measures and [Graph#], [Dot#], and [Num#] meters in Ping.ini.
- Replace instances of the number "10" in Ping.lua.
- Add more sets of numbered parameters in Settings.inc.

HI - thanks for cool Skin. When I use "snap to edge" the skin appears 0px from the screen edge. Is there a way to build a 2px buffer so it lines-up with other skins that are parked along screen edge?
