my heart skips beats like broken records
itching for steady play
dashed to the concrete are my hopes of flying out of here
to see a new dawn beyond the dusk
I wonder that maybe I should let go and I will fly on my own air
pulsating through my lungs giving life to the words I speak
spoken only on days where my mind isn't clouded by fear
Rising like the phoenix blazing through my soul
I cry tears that push doors open to places I never knew existed
