Description I drew this for my cousin- She is 17 and is graduating from High School next weekend and wanted me to design her tattoo.

This is what I came up with- I told her to take this to her artist, pick out her colors, and tell him to render it in his own style.

If you we're a 17 year old girl would you get this?

It might not be exact, but its bewtween a hibiscus & a dragonfly..

the blue and black contrast adds a second element that really makes this tattoo pop, along with the black design behind the flowers. excellent work.

it's lovely, but you can get some almost exactly the same out of the 50cent machines that have temp tattoos and stickers.... I know because I always get them for my little one ^^ she LOVES tattoos and at 4 and half, already wants a real one o.0 it's also personally, a little too cliche and over done and such....though don't get me wrong, the picture itself is quite lovely...but just a little too plain for me personally. I've only one tattoo right now, a rock&roll Hello Kitty with a electric guitar on my left should {for my daughter} and I plan to get many more when money allows.... I've already got the list going of what i want and how i want it and all that too i've always wanted them

Really awesome! I'm not into girly stuff (yeah... I'm pretty boy-ish actually ~) and I would consider having this as a tattoo.

I know what you mean. I just can't draw and do "one" line, I do several of them until I think it's kinda right... and so my stuff looks sketchy.

But I've seen a lot of really great artists with sketchy-artworks... and it looked really nice! So I think it's not bad, actually. I suppose if you really work it off you can stop doing that but... if it's your way to draw, than you need to learn to like it. It's a part of what makes you an artist. We're not all the same! (... well on a drawing-basis at least.)

Oh, and about tattoos... when they do them, they don't sketch it on the person - well sometimes they will but you can do otherwise ; they do a sketch (or more!), than a clean version on some kind of temporary tattoo-sheet-thing (so basically it's like a temporary tattoo... like the cheap ones you can find anywhere) and put it on the skin... then they do the tattoo. So all you have to do at this point is to follow the lines, and do the shading/colors. So if it's the only thing that keeps you from thinking about this career, you know you can do otherwise

Well anyway, you can still take commissions on tattoo designs on the net for fun (and money? XD) too ~

My lines take too long to decide on- I always draft, re draft and second guess a little too much, to use skin as a canvas....

Thanks Dethy- I'm gonna design my own (2nd) pretty soon. I think working on my cousin's made me all amped on getting another one. So when I drawl it up I'll probably be posting it up here, Y'want me to note you?....
