Another one that was drawn at the end of 2011.Jean Grey
In a X-Men: First Class inspired costume.
This costume combines elements of Jean's classic green & gold costume, the X-Men: First Class jumpsuits and a Cerebro offshoot mask concept that I used before in a trade with Jamie Fay .
I thought it would be neat if Jean's mask was also a tool to help the young mutant with her unstable powers.
A offshoot of the Cerebro technology meant to help focus her powers when in tactical situations... plus the burden of head-gear could be something she and Cylcops could have in common even though his is a 24/7 case.
With any luck I'll get around to drawing the rest of the team on of these days.

Nice! I am REALLY digging this design. It works great as a "First Year" kind of costume. Turning her mask into a Cerebro reference is brilliant as well.

I always like that the X-Men in their student days had uniforms.
The idea behind the elements of this costume pretty much went like this...
X-Men original costumes + X-Men:First Class movie costume + Jean's green dress & gold mask + Jean's 1990's costume with the headband that hod something that her powers emanated from sometimes + Cerebro = This costume!

Yeah. I like the student uniforms too. What I don't like as much is versions where they still wear uniforms as adults.
I can definitely see all of those influences in there. It turned out really good. With so many versions of the characters out there, sometimes it seems like the best option to redesign characters is to just pick and choose elements that REALLY work.

No X-grouping is set without a Sentinel.
Although the notion that the X-Me most likely will wipe out Juston Seyfert's heroic Sentinel in Avengers Academy makes me sad. :C

It's just another addition to Avengers vs. X-Men. I'm not reading any of it unless it drops into one of the titles I have on my pull list because lately big events suck.

Yeah... I've only been to the comic shop 4 times in the past couple of years and never really spent much time if any looking in any books. I still love drawing comic book heroes and villains but it's been a while since I've been excited about anything.

I'm always trying to limit myself to a few key issues. But there's always disappointments that I hold onto in case they go back to being good.
Example, the new Incredible Hulk series. Art is a ripoff of Marc Silvestri's and the plot got stagnant in the 4rth issue.

OMG you are a genius! I would have never thought to make the X-men First Class movie uniform into a mini dress for Jean. This would be a perfect homage to the Marvel Girl days in the comic. NICE JOB! I love how you kept the spirit of the costume and molded it into the uniform, allowing the same textures and seam lines as in the movie verse. I LOVE the boots! I can't wait to see your take on Cyclops and Storm. WOW!!!

Sometimes I draw things that I'd like to see cosplayed.
I always liked the Blue and Yellow uniforms that the original X-Men had and even though I haven't seen the movie yet I liked that they finally had it to the big screen and that they appeared to be functional.
If I were to draw her in the Blue & Yellow again it might look a little different.
