This was a collab with ! The ink lines you see are his, and he also helped a with the colors. I did the sketch, and painted.
Sorry that Elijah isn't -actually- the next thing I uploaded, Takenawayforever! Oni uploaded it once we were done so I wanted to post mine too :'D. But he's scanned in and getting colored as we speak. Err. As I type, rather. (Elijah, that is, not oni.)
Anwho, it's done! Time to move the sketch into scraps.

I think they're a kind of paint in this one! In their story, they live in a colony of earth dragons that often uses bodypaint and primitive accessories. (Momo's cream spots on her face and sides are also paint :3) Oni added it in while we worked on this together.

The colours in this... are just so spectacular! I love the mix of evident strokes and softer-edged ones, and the reflected light that harmonizes the two of them, the details like the ridges on their horns and the foaming water on the beach. Just. Spectacular.

Thanks! I purposefully used the bright yellow-white of the background for the highlight color in many places. It worked out fairly well in this instance. :3

I'm not even lying or exagerating. I watch over 2500 people, many artists submitted stuff today. Tatchit, shinerai etcetc. But this is my FAVORITE painting in a LONG time. This is just so beautiful, the colors, the mood, the background, the characters, the poses.

ashfldahld aww noo noo I still have a long way to go until I'm at the level of those artists! There's a lot of hard work and studying and practice on my way until I can expect to measure up to some other people out there-- but I'm really glad you enjoyed this piece, and I'm definitely going to keep working and producing art, because I enjoy it a lot! And the new stuff I'm making is starting to be a lot more personally satisfying, nowadays, so there's just more incentive to work.

Thank you! :3 Oni helped pick out the color schemes that worked best, and did a bit of the shading, and I'm sure it was his help that let me finish it before school and get it looking the way it does. It was a lot of fun X3

Oni's inks are in blue, or is that your sketch?

The inks are primarily brown, while the sketch takes on a variety of colors throughout-- but on onidragon, the sketch is mostly blue! The thick lines you see are oni's :3

Wow they were like black because I ink black and then we made them like brownish and then lighter at some places
