Well... San's could have made it a lot less 'worth it' if he would not have let the kid die so many times that they got into thinking "Getting rid of them all would be better!"
I do not believe in the common "They did it becuz they were bored!" Genocide explanation. I believe in the "They got tired of dying time after time after time after time and finally broke!" explanation.

Why does any player do the Genocide route?Β The answer is because they are curious, or feel like because it exists, they "have to."Β It's because they've already seen the Pacifist route, and want a new experience from the game, to see a new side of the characters that already charmed them.
In other words: because they are bored with how things went the first time, and want the challenge of something new.
This is what Flowey describes in the Genocide route as the player guides Frisk through New Home.Β And because the player controls Frisk, any reason the player does something is also the reason Frisk does that thing.
I don't know many people who went for the Genocide route because they "snapped."Β It's pretty hard for a video game of all things to have such a profound psychological effect on people.Β So... yeah.Β Frisk goes for the Genocide route not because they snapped, but because they were, indeed, bored.
At any rate, please don't just come into the comments of somebody's art to try and convince them that the thing that compelled them to create that art is wrong. Whether you agree with this telling of the story or not, it's what inspired me to draw this.
