The 9 AM meeting. The Colson-Meyer contracts. The FTi merger. The drive home.It was all gone. It melted away with the wax of every candle he'd lit the living room with. It wafted away on the scent of that incense that she told him she loved. And now, he kneaded and caressed every last bit of that miserable day away with his ambrosial foot massage techniques.
Within two minutes of her coming through the door, curious about the dimness she walked into, he had sat her on the couch, removed her shoes, bathed her feet in perfumed water, and began his chirapsia, his only words being "Hi, Baby."
Yes. Yes she loved this man.

Thanks, BC! There's just something about these two (brain + ... I dunno, jock?) being intimate that brings out the romantic in me. He loves what he has and he wants to make her happy. I dig that.
Also, glad you liked the writing! I feel I'm more of a storyteller than an illustrator. A simple "I thought this would be a cool idea to draw" just wasn't enough for me this time.

Nah, I wouldn't call him a jock... he's harder to stereotype. Storyteller, or smooth talker... perhaps salesman! I forgot the name of the episode where he takes up selling watches, but that's the sort of thing he excels at.

That's one of the things I enjoyed about the old kid's shows. The romances weren't set in stone but they were subtle enough to be obvious (paradox). Nowadays in cartoons the romance is so explicit it's disgusting. In the new Scooby Doo they've practically compromised the personalities of the characters to force romance between Fred/Daphne and Shaggy/Velma.
