I cannot write anything advanced for the simple fact that I am such a bad drawer, but I like this A LOT and I think I'm gonna fav it.
Great work!

That is incredibly detail, the shading and light is incredibe, especially under the arm and at the bottom of the torso.
The detail across the chest and the neck is what is really impressive, you are obviouslly really skilled in using different shades a lot of people have a tendancy to go too dark or too light.
Amazing work.

Very well done !
I'll fav this one.
I'm really blown away by your works. I've never seen something like it before.

I have been doing art ever since i could pick up a crayon, but it has never been anything great. Then when i got outta high school, i started going to a GREAT art trade school: [link] . It's a 4 year school and i'm in my second year.

LOL! i thought i was gonna die, too. i really wasnt used to working so hard for such an extended period of time! (Working for 7 hours a day, with only an hour lunch break in the middle of it all) But after the first year i got really used to it, and now, when i start in my third year, i'll have to put in EXTRA hours to finnish all that needs to be done. YIKES! But it will be fun. ^__^

Really nice work. You are very talented. I didn't look at the larger file, but is that a second face on his cheek or facial anatomy?

No, that's exactly it. What did you use for reference? If you're into this stuff, I have a great book called Anatomica you might want to track down. It's all exploded views of cadavers, executed by a wax studio. It's really great reference for the underlying structures of the human body. Take care!

extremely well done...what size is the original and how many hours spent?(i'm always curious about this kind of stuff)
you captured your subject well, it really looks like a non reflective monochrome sculpture of an anatomy cadaver.

While the technical aspects of this are staggering, and I'm a bit jealous of your skill with a pencil, I've gotta say, something about it doesn't strike me. I think it may be the fact that, rather than appearing as if the skin is actually removed, you get the effect that muscle texture and veins were placed over already existing skin.
It may be because the way people are familiar with muscles is that the fibers have much more texture than we are seeing...that is to say, the rifts and valleys inbetween the musle fibers are typically much deeper. I'm not an anatomy expert, so this may or may not be true, but alot of the times when we see these things (3d images on The Learning Channel and what-have-you), that is what we see.
You did capture that effect in the face (very well I might add), but as for the rest of the body, it lacks that effect. Maybe because we aren't seeing any ligaments, and the muscle has the same consistency over the joint in the hands, shoulders, chest, etc.
Still. Very, very impressive drawing.

yeah, lol!! i totally agree. it really wasn't supposed to look exactly true-to-life, though. i had taken a photo reference that was taken of a famous statue replica made a really long time ago. so back in those days, that's the extent of what people knew the body looked like with the skin removed. not completely accurate, but i think they were pretty darn close. ^__^

This is impressive! Did you use another picture or diagram for accuracy of the anatomy? Just pencil? How did you get the background so perfect? Keep it up!
