Ironically, the congress is currently in vacations, while our troops are dying in Iraq everyday. That's what's life is worth for all I know... T_T

where's the disclaimer that says: "catgirl not included" :/...cause i hate mini-coopers but I'd buy one if it came with the catgirl XP..........does it?

There is actually only one called Natsuki. ^^
She's one of the main characters.

All characters in that show are furries, but Natsuki is the only catgirl.
The other main character is a nine-tails fox. ^^

The bell looks fantastic. Just wish I had the patience to learn Metasequioa (sp?)

Maybe Metasequoia is not such a good option for you, since it is officially not available outside of Japan and all of the forums and tutorials are in Japanese. Have you tried Blender3D? It is a *FREE* professional grade 3D modeler with a huge community that has been established for years now. It may not be much of intuitive or easy to learn, but it has much more support and learning materials than Metasequoia will ever have in English.

An old friend of mine bought and shipped me a copy of Metasequoia a year ago. I just lack the patience to make something. I have what I want planned out, but the problem is I want it now. One of my little quirks thanks to Aspbergers.

Any luck finding training materials or decent tutorials?
Does it ship with any? As far as I know, even the help files are in Japanese.

No, just help files in Japanese. If I can find my CD Key for Universal Translator 2.0 I could do a decent machine level translation of the help files.
And get a good laugh or two reading them.

Yeah, perhaps in a couple of years we'll have AI driven translation systems that will liven things up. ^^

There is already a *semantic* translator, which is much more efficient than a word-by-word literal translator without a context. Those use to be VERY expensive, though. ^^

ken1171 In reply to Chuusha [2007-04-04 20:31:08 +0000 UTC]
I think semantic translators are different in the sense that they analyze the context of the text and the grammar related to it. As an example, a syntax-based translator costs around $80 while a semantic one starts from $3,000.

Hmm... I must have the reject translator then. Mine only cost me $9.95.
If I can find the CD key for the thing I can run the help documents through it. And if it works with Windows XP... bought it for Windows 95... So I'm not expecting much.

I know what you mean. I bought a 3DSMAX plugin for Windows XP and now it doesn't install on Vista...

Didn't Microsoft hint at XP applications being compatible with Vista?

ken1171 In reply to Chuusha [2007-04-05 19:05:14 +0000 UTC]
They never said that. What they said was that *some* would be, and to some point. So far nearly all of my XP programs work (or partially work) in Vista, but not the ones that depend on DirectX's DirectDraw and some other things that were removed from Windows Vista.

I'll upgrade when Vista has a service pack or two and I get a new mainboard, chip, ram, and video.

I was having the kind of expecations concerning Poser 7, waiting for the SR-1 to come out. Now that it did, I was sort of disappointed because there are major flaws on the new ambient occlusion and HDRI rendering that were not fixed. T_T

Hmm... I haven't even created a single scene with Poser 7 yet. Been busy with getting tar, feathers, torches, and pitchforks ready to welcome Comcast technicians.

Poser is not a 3D modeling tool, so it cannot be used for creating any new contents.
I use 3DSMAX to create the models and Poser for the rigging and setting up materials. ^^

Thank you! I actually used raytracing to cast the shadows (3 bounces), but not for the reflexions. I am not sure how would I create the surroundings for raytraced reflexions around the car in Poser. I used gave it a reflexion map and turned raytracing on, but as you can see, KahoChan is not reflecting on the car paint. Perhaps Poser rendering is not good enough for that, or I just don't know how to set it up. ^^
