Cosplay: Stealth Suit from Captain America: Winter Soldier
Photo my Eric Ng - BigWhiteBazooka Photography
Shield - built in my garage based on a snow sled. I cut down a metal snow sled, spun it, and then painted the base shield. The star is cut from an aluminum cut and etched via razor. Brackets on back were cut from sheet metal and very poorly - my jig saw over heated while cutting the brackets so I cut with metal snips. Not pretty. Nor are my straps which were made from what I found in the spare fabric bin in my shed. Not bad for a last minute job the weekend before Dragon Con 2014. Huge thank you to therpf.com forum members. I built the shield based on processes posted by members there.
Costume - Base is by CosplaySky. Modifications to fit include bringing in the waist 4", bringing in the calves, shortening the inseam and tightening the faux leather harness and belt.
Worn to - Dragon Con 2014, YCON 2014
Future modifications - Replace the leather harness and belt with darker and more realistic leather material. Make the front star removable so I can use it for both this suit and my upcoming Avengers 2: Age of Ultron suit.
