I realised I could kill two birds with one stone with this pic. D First, it's my entry for *kittykatkanie 's June theme challenge, and second, it introduces Kitri, Lilian's old captain and the love of his life.

She's got a very strong 'wedding' theme... the epithet on her bounty poster was 'Runaway Bride'. She was engaged to be married no less than seven times... buuuuut good ol' Kitri was a scam artist, and she left the poor grooms at the altar each and every time (literally, in one case). After a couple years of this, she put together a pirate crew of her own, and went to the Grand Line to seek her fortune.

The time was almost ten years before the Roger Pirates conquered Raftel, and at that time the Marines had a rather stronger presence in the Grand Line. This was eventually to end in disaster for Kitri and her crew, but in the meantime they had fun pirating.

Then Kitri met Lilian. The thing was, she fell in love with him. Kitri, though she was naturally charming and bubbly, had a real heart of ice- she could rob a person blind, ruin their entire life with hardly a second thought. She didn't get attached to people, and she just didn't care about this fact. She was out to use up all the time she had on the seas doing whatever the hell she wanted.

But she fell in love with Lilian. And Lilian fell in love with her. Blinded to each other's faults, they roamed the sea as pirate lords for about three years.

Then they came across the Eos, and the young Marine Lykaios Philipa. In the fierce pitched battle that followed, Kitri was killed, and Lilian was imprisoned. There the story pauses...

Young Lilian and Kitri are so cuuuuute together! *squeals* Young Lilian's hair is suprisingly pretty... He's still got his flat face though Kitri usually wears quite heavy purple and blue eye makeup, but for some reason I forgot to draw it this time. And while she does tend to wear very elegant dresses, they don't usually have such voluminous skirts...

And they look so happy~~
