Inu Yasha was one of the first manga series I started after Sailor Moon made me aware of how awesome Japanese manga/anime really is. Back then, I had to wait 'till the next english translation of the book came out if I wanted to read more, but I seriously worried how they could make their relationship work, so I had to keep going. I confess I haven't finished reading the series yet, but I own all by one of the manga books so it is possible to do so. Oh, being an adult only takes away your free time, enjoy being young while you can!

But back to the couple, yes, Kagome Higurashi and Inuyasha's relationship functions similarly to Ranma & Akane's from Ranma 1/2. Boy finds himself in compromising position with girl's love rival. Girl gets angry, keeping it in until she explodes/runs away. Boy gets angry too, failing to understand what he did wrong (even if it was just a misunderstanding) until he gets told by friend what he did wrong, or comes to a solution (that is also sometimes wrong). Boy and Girl make up. Repeat. Somehow, this formal gets very addictive in a way that tugs at the heartstrings, and to top it off is action packed, eerie, and beautifully drawn- so it is easy to get sucked into the story. They both are pretty stubborn, but Kagome brings out the hero in Inuyasha, and Inuyasha brings out the bravery in Kagome. Together they can save feudal Japan- a power couple.

I look forward to when I can give myself a weekend off to just re-read all the manga to refresh myself and finally finish their story.
