The sun was going down, and it was coming in through the kitchen window, right through this full glass and I just yelled and made everyone stay perfectly still while I took this shot. I shouted "Oh my god, don't move!" And my family got scared until I explained that it was just so no one would get in my light. I think they think I'm nuts... Oh wait I am
Anyway enjoy.

How goes it?
I just found your page and I find myself having a difficult time looking away from this glass. Good eye, catching this shot! It reminds me of a picture I took of a beer glass in London, except that one was fuzzy and grainy (cos i was drunk, ha). But yeah, this is great.
Does the glass have its own hue to it, or is all the color just the work of the sun? Nevertheless, even though this is not a careful case study, the random shots are often-times the best ones you take. I'm def gonna venture to put you on DeviantWatch!!

Awesome lighting. The browns of the table and glass really look nice. The grid lines on the table help frame the glass.

I must admit, when I first read the title, I pictured you at a restaurant table holding, well, an after-dinner drink.
I love moments like this; unfortunately, when I'm prepared for the unexpected, it doesn't happen, and when I'm not, it does; talk about bad luck
This is very nice. The light in the glass, and the reflection on the countertop... it all just blends so well. And it has a kind of serenity I think.

For lighting and eye-candy, this is rated very highly among your work in my opinion
The title 'After Dinner Drink' kind of reminds me of after dinner mints, and seems somehow wrong. I'm not too sure how, but it just does. 'Drinking In The Sunset'... man, what type of skies do you have over there? To get that lighting, takes some funky skies. That said, it does kind of seem to match the mood of the picture, high-class, almost regal. Not too sure of either people's perspective on this point, but it may just be personal, in which case, go by your own instincts
I absolutely adore the purple highlight on the bottom of the glass; I don't think the photo would have been complete without that. It adds much needed contrast (Also keeping within complementary colors, I see

Yeah. Well it was a beer after dinner and the sun was going down so I just named it what it was. The glass is actually purple which gives off the odd color and then the drink has the golden type color. I didn't do anything set up wise, which would probably explain a lot of it's problems. It's a bit dark too but I was in a hurry to take the shot before I lost the sunlight. Boy does the sun go down fast around here.

It turned out beautifully, and the problems are hardly noticable. Summer here, so the sun takes hours and hours to go down. It's 21:30 here, and it looks like early evening at most.
