SO this piece was me trying to push myself in a lot of ways... trying to make myself do backgrounds, experiment with composition, play with color and texture... it's become one of those pieces that I've stared at for so long that I have no idea anymore whether I like it or not. Pretty sure I do.I know this looks like it should have some deep intense meaning or something but really... I just like pretty magical foresty things. That's it!

This is SO lovely. I don't know if any of this is actually traditional media, but the background has a lovely watercolor-esque look about it, and I love how you did the hands. And the girl's face is hypnotizing. Beautiful work!

gorgeous! I love particularly the way the tree branches at the top make it look like stain glass windows... and the little bottle! It's adorable

I really like it! I think you did a great job with the expression and the pose. Looks very mysterious and she reminds me of a forest nymph in a way. Mischevious, but not dangerous exactly. Just curious. I like how you did her hands as well holding the glass jar. The coloring is amazing. I think it really shows how much you pushed yourself, especially with the background. Looks very magical with the way it's more real up close then looks kinda more like an illusion farther back. Also, love the hair and the eyes are intense! Beautiful, beautiful work.
And I just have one question. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I was just wondering what technique you used for shading, cause the way you do it makes it look very life like.

Pushing is good, I struggle with lots of things and I know the only way to get better is to work at it. I love the trees in the background, I love how loose they are, it really contributes to the distance.
