OKAY! Here it is, finally: a big group picture of all the main characters of my story! I've never drawn them all in one place before, because, well, there are a lot of them. This took me sooo looong and it isn't even that fancy. I have no idea why I thought I needed 10 characters but I'm stuck with them now!!!

Anyway, I'll be posting this story somewhere online, as soon as I get enough written and edited to not be horrible. I'll let you all know when that happens.

I'm very excited to formally introduce my characters to all of you! I don't have a real name for the story or the group yet, but they all go to Castlehill High School (at the beginning of the story, they're age 14-16) so that's what I'm calling them for now.

from left to right:

KP Thatcher: A scrawny little punk with an inexhaustible, though sardonic, sense of humor - he can't take anything seriously. He kind of has to be serious, though, when he starts having visions of what may or may not be the future. He's a halfhearted art student who mostly just draws snarky little cartoons, argues with the teachers about drawing still lifes, and entertains the rest of the class in general. Oh, and it's short for Kirkpatrick.

Penny Hopewell: Born in Buenos Aires, Penny was essentially raised at a succession of American-run boarding schools in Argentina. After her mother died, she was brought back to the U.S. to live with her American father and started attending Castlehill High. She's irrepressible, in a word; she's spunky, exuberant, and energetic - often, quite frankly, to the point of obnoxiousness. But she doesn't care what you think, so there!

Derek Clark: The tall, strapping star of the basketball team. He's pretty much too cool for school. He doesn't get interesting until rather later in the story, but I will say he has at least one deep, dark secret.

Jessica Calvin: Castlehill's own snooty superior supermodel queen bee. She's filthy rich and enjoys letting people know it. Together, she and Derek are the school's It Couple (most of the time), and they waltz around being doubly snooty. She gets more interesting later too.

Toby McAuliffe: Toby lived most of his life out in the mountains, living in a small cabin with his parents and producing stacks and stacks of beautiful nature paintings. Then tragedy struck, and he was forced to move in with his aunt and uncle and bratty cousins, in their big house in the middle of the city. He's quiet, thoughtful, and understandably a bit angsty at times.

Jake Sherman: Another angster! I drew him looking normal here, but Jake has even more of an excuse for self-pity, because he keeps turning into this weird monster thing and he doesn't know why. He's always been extremely shy and awkward, and panics at the smallest obstacles, so yeah, he's basically a wreck.

Emily Holloway: A self-appointed emo kid (or indie, or scene, or whatever the cool kids are calling themselves this week), she despises the "popular kids" on a matter of principle and takes great pains to show how NOT like them she is... yeah, she's kind of a poser. She's naive and something of a goody-goody but really wants to be taken seriously. She's the first to find out about Jake and makes it her job to take care of him.

Rachelle Montgomery: Insecure, a little bit awkward, she wants desperately to be a popular girl like Jessica but really has no idea what that actually means, or where to start. She's nice enough, but comes off as somewhat overfriendly and eager. She is, however, the only member of the group who has any sort of inkling about what's going on.

Kavi Prasad: Kavi and his twin sister Ananda moved to Castlehill from England a year or two ago. Kavi is smart, a little nerdy, and is incredibly fascinated with anything to do with plants. He also does a ridiculous amount of reading, and although he's friendly, he tends to get a little boring sometimes when he talks on and on about whatever scientific theory he's currently studying.

Ananda Prasad: Ananda is definitely the more social, personable twin. She likes talking to whoever's closest to her at any given moment, and is genuinely interested in what people have to say about themselves, so people gravitate toward her. However, she's also very comfortable in her daily routine and rather skittish towards anything out of the ordinary.

And that's it! There are lots of other characters - some who have bigger parts than some of these - but these 10 are the core of the story. Maybe I will do a secondary-character pic sometime soon. If you'd like to know more about any of these, just ask, I love talking about them!!! You can also find more pictures of most of them in my gallery.

Thank you!!!

I kind of think of all of them as main characters... I plan on actually writing a lot of different books, and some of them will focus more on one or two characters that might be only in the background in some other stories. If I had to pick just one, though, I would say that Jake is in the center of everything more than anybody else.

I DID go crazy!! holy crap, I tried to keep the coloring nice and simple, but even quick little doodles take a lot of time when you're doing TEN of them.

but thanks!
