The eerie silence of this photo really haunts me, looking at those tiny threads as they almost seem to float in the air, old and forgotten, a covering of dust showing their long disuse, as they slowly crumble till nothing is left. And falling, crashing slowly to the earth. But for now they still have a strange charm. That lingering memory of life like a requiem sung as quietly as the wind gently swaying those delicate strands like ghosts on the wind. Like a melancholy view of the never changing cycle of the world in a single frame. It is strange to contemplate so much on such a simple image, but then I suppose that is what makes the picture one of quality. I would that the impact of this photo is a very quiet one, but one that settles over you more and more the longer you look at it.
I can’t think of anything much technically wrong with this photo given my very limited knowledge. I like the way the focus fades away into darkness, as though echoing the fate of all things, to return to the dust. That liquid blackness like the depths of the sea, make me feel like I am floating away, lost in my own thoughts as I gaze at it.
A very strong image I believe.
