Hi there !
This time I did a study from a piece created by the talented Jason Scheier (I didn't find him on DeviantArt but you can find all of his work on Artstation!)

►Why this study ?
I didn't do much environment studied before even though it is domething I really enjoyed to look at. So I decided to pick a piece that really "spoke" to me and try to replicate it to learn how other artists interprets values, colors from a picture.

►What did you find difficult and what did you learn ?
The most difficult thing was to be able to paint details. I've become quite familiar with the first steps of digital painting but I'm always stuck at some point, when I want to add more details to make it look more appealing and realistic. The same thing happened here: I could see the details but how to do replicate them ? The answer is with patience and with choosing your brushes carefully: a basic brush is good for defining the main volume but when you want to add details, more texture and not spend 10x more time, textures brushes can really be lifesavers.
Also reminder : shadows are really saturated.

►What area's do you wish to improve on?
Addding details to have a "finished" look and adding textures and colors (maybe a texture layer at the end ? And a brush with hue variation to use at the end).
