Very nice shot and a very interesting plant. The composition works well because of the tinier stems coming off and how you've kept them all in the screen. I love the colour of the flowery type part of this aswell.

Actually, because New Zealand doesn't get such a hard winter (but lots of rain), it is covered from north to south in rainforest, so that might do the trick.

Beautiful colours and light, but I would have liked it to be a little less grainy-- it's a tad out of focus.

Well, it's grainy because it was originally done on slide film... and since I can't get decent reproductions or scans from them, I only could scan an exposure I had made.

All of your searching really paid off. This fern looks like someone bowing their head. The stem looks like a back.

Thank you very much. Everybody seems to see something different in them. I just really love the form, it is very elegant, I think. I could go "fern-hunting" forever, but unfortunately, they don't grow where I live. *sniff*
