Thanks for the correction! The. Commissioner wasn't too picky about the specifics of the design, she just wanted something that vaguely resembled a Chinese, or Asian, dragon :3 I'll correct the title

Most people like to have original tattoos.
Copying someone else's is just... stupid.

If I were in fact to copy a tattoo design like this, what is the likeliness I would meet someone else with the exact same tattoo? Although, to be honest, I was not referring to getting it as a tattoo at all so much as wanting to paint a copy of it myself to keep in my dorm room. Of course I do respect the artist's wishes and will not use or copy this piece.

I dunno, maybe they just want an original tattoo.
And it doesn't matter, original tattoos are the best.. Like, if I had a tattoo artist give someone the same design as something I saw on pinterest, I'd go to a different tattoo artist.. But y'know, that's just what I think.
That's understandable. You might be able to send them a personal message asking them if they'd be okay with that.
Or, you may have to buy a print from them..

I see your point, and I certainly agree that original tattoos have a certain "je ne sais quoi" that generic tattoos do not. And I certainly agree that the commissioner chose an excellent artist for creating a colorful and eye-catching tattoo. My initial comment was only intended to be a compliment to the artist with a twinge of jealousy to the commissioner who received it (because its just that awesome). I'll probably never get a tattoo, but if I do I would certainly agree that original is always better than copied.
Actually, I do intend to purchase prints or possibly commission some original pieces once I take up permanent residence. I'm a huge fan of this artist and have loved everything I've seen since I started following them.
