Ft. Chibi-Usa as Black LadyI'm SO IN LOVE WITH THIS ONE. There are no words. I haven't drawn a Sailor Moon character seriously since grade school... But... I experimented with a different approach to doing some ink washing... and I am SO GLAD that I did. I used my silver ink again, but watered it down a bit to get more of a shimmer. The effect it has on this scanned version is still there, and this approach worked out better than my initial attempt with the silver on my Yoko piece.

I loved Sailor Moon as a kid! Pretty sure I wouldn't have started drawing if I never discovered this series.
I haven't done Sailor Moon-related drawings since I was a kid that was total garbage at drawing. Lol.
I had soooo much fun with this from start to finish! It was nice to do a drawing from a series I used to constantly draw fanart of. XD
I actually got around to watching the reboot back in the spring. Story-line, it wasn't bad, but I wasn't
really feeling the animation though. It was nice to see a childhood favorite redone though. x]

Sailor Moon Crystal got better in season 3. Story wise, the reboot (and the manga) is better than the original, but when it comes to animation, characters and humor, 90's Sailor Moon wins.

When the animation wasn't looking wonky, it was totally on point in Crystal.
But when it looked off, it was super distracting to me. o.o'
Storyline was very well done.
If only the 90s animation and story loyalty could have been smushed together.

I completely agree! I also liked the soundtrack and humor of the 90's anime. Imagine this: Sailor Moon with the 90's style only with newer technology making it look fancy, the story according to Sailor Moon Crystal with maybe more personality for anyone who isn't related to Usagi by blood just like how it was in the old version and sprinkle in the best of both soundtracks and bam: perfect show!
