OMG! OMG! OMG!! I CANNOT BELIEVE I STILL HAVE THIS!!! AND IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY I DO!!!! A long time ago when I was a very young katty i used to actually be pretty decent at this drawing thing. I was heavily influenced by anime before it became this mainstream thing, back in the 80's you had to rely on bootleg tapes to see anything outside of what was shown on television. My brother had a few of these tapes and I fell in love... but I loved all sorts of cartoons and I think my style is this weird combination of western and eastern influences.

ANYWAY!!! this is a drawing I did while I was in high school way back in that magical decade known as the 80's. I can remember all I wanted to be was a cartoonist, I was so passionate about it, but life sometimes makes you go down other routes and I stopped drawing for years. I have often tried to come back to it only to stop again for one reason or another. and it wasn't until a year or so ago that I REALLY tried to get myself back into it. A LOT of my frustrations when I draw or sketch is not being able to draw at the level that I used too... it just goes to show if you don't use it you lose it... I want to get back and SURPASS what I used to be able to do with a pencil and it's been an uphill battle. Maybe it's not to late for me to try to do something artwise... but I still can't help thinking about all the years I lost. If there is one lesson in this for any of you... if you truly have a passion for drawing or art and creating..... NEVER GIVE UP ON IT! Follow that dream and don't let anyone or ANYTHING stop you from achieving your goal.

Still I'm so psyched to find this.... This is My character Hope from a fantasy based comic called "The Chronicles of Wind" ( the title didn't make much sense to be honest with you...I just liked the name) It never really got out of the "it's all in Katty's head" stages... I had so many sketches of the characters almost all of which are now long gone and lost..BUT THIS SURVIVED!!!!!!! I guess I named Hope aptly because this one really gives me hope.. OH I'm so coloring this one in!!! YAY!!!!!!!!
