I spend a lot of time sitting in front of the mirror, staring at my make up brushes, and thinking "do i really need all this to fit in? Do I really need all this to not get judged, ridiculed, or called out? Do I really need this powder, paint, and palette to feel powerful?" No. I don't. I'm beautiful on the inside, so no matter how ugly I feel, I know that it's just not true.

So as I sat there, in front of this piece of furniture they call a vanity, I felt the true meaning of that word. And I picked up the brush.
Vanity (n): Excessive pride in or admiration of one's own appearance or achievements.
