A short critique from
I really love how you drew the dress - all those tiny details! And those wrinkles and the shading - this is seriously excellent work. I also love the color scheme - how the reds and the blues compliment each other, and how they tie the entire piece together. Especially the red in her face is a very nice touch, as it directs more attention to her face.
To the things you could improve. The primary thing is the photo of the artwork. The bottom is considerably darker than the top, and you can also see the edge of the paper in the upper left corner. Scanning the artwork could be an idea - it appears that you have scanned other works in your gallery.
I would also make the very darkest shadows even darker, and therefore increase the contrast even more. This will make the artwork even more interesting to look at.
Also, a small shadow on the ground so it doesn't look like she's floating might be an idea.
But all in all this is stunning work I love how you've used the colors, how you've done the shading, and especially how you drew that dress. The pose looks great too, and I really like her expression! Keep up the good work!

My pleasure!
Some tips about taking a good photo:
- Use daylight - but not direct sunlight. Direct sunlight will often change the colors and make them appear more yellowish - and, of course, you can get an issue with shadows. Taking the photo on a cloudy day should work well - as well as just taking the photo somewhere in the shadow.
- Make sure you have enough daylight, and that it's "even". If there is not enough light you often end up with a photo where one side is lighter than the other side. Taking the photo in front of a large window should do the trick. Or, if you want and can, you could also take the photo outside. (I personally don't do that, though.)
- Make sure the paper is laying flat on the surface when you take the photo. If necessary, weight down the corners. You should be able to crop that out afterwards. This makes it easier to take a photo from a good angle, and will prevent extra shadows caused by the paper itself.
- As for the angle - I try to make sure that three of the paper edges are just not in the photo. Due to the format of the paper vs. the format of the photo you will see the paper edge on the fourth side, and you will have the crop this out afterwards. If all the edges are straight, you know I'm taking the photo from directly above, and not at an angle.Β You will have to crop the photo a bit anyway, to make the fourth edge fit. Also, don't zoom in while doing this. Just move the camera closer, until you get the three edges of the paper in the right position. (And yes, this might require sitting in a weird position.)
