Description
"Sweetheart...if he wanted it 'the Tribal way'...why did he love you?"
-to Cornelia-
The above catchphrase was inspired by Game of Thrones when Dorhea taught Daenerys how to please her husband. She had said
"If he wanted it the Dothraki way...why did he marry you?
The moment when Simarah said this was when Cornelia joined her for breakfast to her tent and expressed her doubts of whether she could offer Ballard the proper treatment the way he was used to. She knows she is not a huntress or anything so she is worried whether Ballard is not happy or not completely content with her (since he does pretty much everything in the tent! ). Simarah understands her and tries to reassure her.
[ can probably understand under what conditions Cornelia doubts her worth as Ballard's mate! ]

Name: Simarah (Pronounced "simara" with "a" deeper like "ah")
Nickname: Mother Hoogong
Appearance: Simarah is a tall very sturdy Tribal woman. She has very large and muscular arms and legs. She also appears to have a certain tendency of growing fat here and there but just enough to make her look sturdy (like more Tribals she is more muscle than fat). She has characteristic body marks to her face and arms and legs like it happens to most Tribals. She is completely blind like most Tribal people. She appears to be in her late forties making her a bit younger than Ballard's and Dilla's mother and father (of course as we know Tribals tend to be older than they look )
Her height reaches about 2 meters in total and her weight is around 220 kg.
Her hair is long and black (here you can imagine her back hair reach lower and of course YarArts2 is free to imagine any other differences to her body marks/clothes etc sees fit )
Personality: Simarah has a motherly nature. She has three children she loves deeply and so she has gained a soft and understanding heart for most people. She is also very wise and calm and so she often gives advice to those who need it. She rarely ever loses her cool and she is always speaking in a soft, kind manner. Her voice is always soothing. Of course don't let her kindness fool you and take her for a softy! Her "mother bear" attitude can wake up any time if someone hurts her loved ones!
Abilities/Skills: Like most Tribals she is very skilled huntress (even if she isn't nearly as good as Dilla she still can hunt pretty sufficiently). She can also create good craftsmanship, mostly on animal pelts and less on metal. Her cooking skills are also unquestionable, since she can create the most delicious dishes. She can also create very beautiful stuff out of clay, which she sells for good prices in the market of Meridian villages. She is a very strong and resilient woman. She doesn't play a musical instrument but she has a very beautiful soothing singing voice (I dunno maybe like the singer of "Circle of Life" of Lion King www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4efZI… )
Other Information: Simarah lives in a tent "neighboring" Ballard's (she lives a few meters away) therefore she has a particular love for him as if he were her own son. In fact the kind woman offered Ballard a good deal of motherly love (the same to Dilla) when they lost their mother Danra in such a young age, offering to their father, Natalla the best of support she could before Natalla too disappeared. When Caleb arrived to the village for the first time, she was one of the people who actually did not judge him for his origins as a Whisperer and she seemed willing to hear his story. She offered him hospitality when he needed it.
When Cornelia arrived to their village she immediately saw her firstly as "her child" and secondly as the strong Guardian who had saved their world. She offered her support when she needed it. She acted like a mother to her and supported her in her pregnancy. She often advised her when she needed it and often cooked her meals when Ballard was off to the town to sell goods or to a team-hunt that took days.
Her favorite activity is to pass time with her children.
Tribes' Trivia
Tribal Love
The Tribals (as our watchers know ) mate for life. That means once they fall in love with someone they never love another one ever again.
Love at first sight is possible to them but they mostly believe in a slowly and carefully built love. The Tribals believe that things are resilient only when they prove themselves strong against time. In other words a slowly developed love and relationship is the steadiest of all.
There is no law among them that relationship shouldn't come before marriage. There is not even law that the marriage MUST give you children. Two Tribals can get married even if they cannot (or do not want) to have children. It is just that they usually desire to have family.
There is no law that forbids them taking a mate from another race (for example Galhot Ballard falling in love with human Cornelia, Dilla falling for Whisperer Caleb etc). The first they look is whether there is true love between the partners. They do not care whether the one of them is from another race or not.
A Tribal is capable of doing anything for the partner they love and they devote themselves entirely to them (the way they decide to do it is up to them of course and up to each individual's personality). The epitomy of this devotion appears to be Ballard, who would do anything Cornelia asked if that meant for her to smile!
(Check out pictures for this, for example her confession! www.deviantart.com/art/Confess… )
Unfortunately on the down side the above could mean that certain Tribals were...used by their "loved ones" when those were not Tribals and so they...used their devotion for their benefit
Theoretically homosexuality is not impossible for the Tribes (since they put love above all) but like it happens to our societies sometimes, it is not preferrable. However they won't critisize someone that expresses love for a same-sex partner.
In the same spirit as the above; love between two partners with a large age gap could be considered "understandable" if love is real and honest, however it is not preferrable.
Incest is considered slightly unusual to them. Therefore someone to love their brother or parent in a romantic way, it might be considered almost as a "taboo" for them but not entirely a taboo either. It is something most Tribals do not understand or support but once again if love is pure and real theoretically they will leave it be (even if they do not fully agree with it).
[There is also a slightly different aspectof "incest" to them by culture but usually they refer to the close environment siblings like parents brothers etc] Of course most of the time they do not agree with it entirely.
Tribal "Carnal" Love
Tribals are possible to make love just for pleasure but it is not that much in their culture (like in our society) so the usual would be for them to make love when they want to conceive a child but there are exceptions (like our dearest Ballard and his little fairy! www.deviantart.com/art/Corneli… )
The well-known "french kiss" for pleasure does not exist in their culture originally therefore even if they know what it is (since they come in contact with more people from Meridian), they do not really perform the act themselves normally (of course once again exceptions exist)
Certain "love tactics" are also known to them (kisses in other places than the lips for pleasure etc) but they do not really use them themselves in most occasions but of course I will repeat myself saying there is no real...."rule" for this either
The kiss on the lips exists to their culture the same long as it does to the Meridian people as an act of love betwen partners. It symbolizes the connection between two souls and bodies. Plus it is considered an "oath" between the partners.
To them the lovemaking is the ultimate act of love and it connects the bodies to one and the souls in one being.
Tribal Motherhood
I have already mentioned things about Tribal motherhood in Danra's description katerinaaqu.deviantart.com/art…
Usually a Tribal mother breast-feeds her baby for one year or two, till the baby gets all its teeth and can eat proper food on its own. Of course if a mother desires to nurse her baby longer, no one stops her from doing it.
Tribal milk is richest than human one and has more protein and fat inside so it can respond to the needs of a Tribal baby (for this reason Cornelia feeds Akule much longer than that till he is almost five years old because Akule was born more like "Tribal standards" and he needed more of Cornelia's "human milk" in order to grow. For the CUTE children Corny has check my dearest friend's latest devitation! yararts2.deviantart.com/art/Tw… )
A Tribal baby has more rapid growth and by the age of 13 it is already tall enough for adulthood. After that it is possible they continue to grow for a little longer (like Kher-e-Chak or Ballard) or remain to the height they reached so far (like Akule)
Mothers can breast-feed other children too if situation requires it (remember Danra's description). In other cases Tribal women do the job of "wet nurses" too in Meridian villages if they have plenty of milk to give.
Bond between two children that have drunk milk from the same woman is considered sacred for the Tribes.
When a Tribal woman is to give birth then the Birth Tent is made. Usually they make it the same day the woman feels the "warning contractions". Sometimes, if it happens to have many women that are on their time, they might create the Birth Tent beforehand. If the birth is urgent, then the entire village quits whatever they were doing so far, in order to assist the making of the Birth Tent.
Extra information
Music
Music for Tribes is part of their lives. All Tribals have some kind of relation with it, whether they play an instrument or sing or both
As I had stated before Tribes play a large variety of music from purely Tribal to purely Meridianite music and even mixtures
Tribal music can be monophonic or even polyphonic. In fact the Tribals are famous for organizing their voices and creating duets and even above that. Theoretically Tribals can sing together in chorus and not confuse their notes. Their musical ear is the best of entire Meridian.
[For example they can sing something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPDCsi… (Tottus Floreo)]
They can sing even recitativo (sing-a-song-speaking) or not in their singing.
They can accompany someone "prima vista" ("playing for the first time even if not knowing the notes firsthand") with no real problem.
A musical instrument is like a child or like a part of a Tribal's body. They make their instrument themselves and maintain them themselves. They would never play an instrument that belongs to someone else (unless the other desires it in very RARE occasions). They may make some instrument for someone else outside their Tribes as a token of appreciation or a very valuable present but they NEVER sell them.
Please do not use this without permission or without mentioning me and my friend or any of the information below. Thank you
I think that's all for now!!! Happy Mother's Day to all mothers!
