Description We all die one day, so do plants have souls?

Quite happy with this, I just like the idea. Finally got this done, I've been sort of lazy lately. Was a good excuse to create another cute fae creature mourning over his plant dying. Poor guy.

So sad is your lil' fae person. Such a sweet composition of a guilding light when one is in sorrow. Lady Zee featured you in her journal and decided to take a peek at the art she listed. I agree with Lady Zee about the 'story book' style . Enchanting. Do you do graphics for children's books? If not, you should.

I love the colors and especially the pose and expression of the little fae. He looks so..dejected, poor thing!
The woman is lovely, and her position over the dead plant, holding the lantern, is perfect.

Their outfits are wonderful. I love the textures you created on them as well as all those little details.
Although something sad is going on I think that the color palette you use is nice and soothing. Also I think the idea for framing the picture like putting the leaves on top is ingenious and keeps the eye of the viewer centered on the main event.

Overall I think this painting is very beautiful not only for the art but also for the underlying concept.

It looks like you are really starting to find your own style and way with watercolors. I gotta say this would also look great in a childrens book. It really is one of those pieces that puts a smile on your face. Nicely done job with those colors and the whole piece. Way to go

oh i love this <3 it's so delicate and detailed. i like how you didnt have a background it really makes the woman and child stand out so well. the child's stance and pout is perfect, you must know little children well!
this reminds me of a video game ;; the plants had no souls but as a collective entity they shared energy with earth and so would return to earth and be born again and always be alive and one and the same that way. huu...i am a geek <3

I love it. The whole concept is awesome, and the emotions absolutely flow in this, Karrin.
Your ideas are astounding, and very much "story-bookish" as you put it. Even though I try to make my 2D's look 3Ds, I still adore the 2D much more so. There's something in them that speaks a little louder. (It's hard to explain.)
I'm faving this. Not only because it's an excellent peice of artwork, but because I have 2 small sons, it hits home for me.

lovely as usual i love the deep blue of her dress, it's so eye-catching. the leaves trimming the top are very nice too, and the overall emotion of it is very solemn and sweet. your watercolor work is just gorgeous!
