Nice shading. I think the character needs a "focus", though, like something bright against the rest of the dark colors. Just a suggestion.

My art always seems to burst into flames when I attempt to color it, but despite your initial fear, this picture definetly turned out for the better. (although I would like to see the sketch myself. I'm a big fan of black and white.) I like the color scheme also, a lot of grays and neutrals but just enough cool and warm colors to draw the attention of the eyes. Good work!
