Photo of a 1930's postcard of Margaret Tarrant's famous fantasy painting of the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens.The creator of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie, commissioned Sir George Frampton to build the Peter Pan statue in 1902. It was erected in Kensington Gardens in 1912 and is located in Kensington Gardens to the west of the Long Water.
Tarrant was a renowned illustrator of children's books and fairy tales, she helped to popularize fairies in western culture with her artwork.
