Description [Disclaimer - Air Rubway is a virtual airline. Any resemblances with real companies are coincidental; any involvements with real companies, past or present, are purely fictional.]

A little something for Chizzil : a De Havilland DH-89A Rapide of Air Rubway of Doha, Qatar, a small, one-plane operation with big ambition in the Post-War aviation world.
It is also wildly ahead of its time, as scheduled flights into and out of Doha didn't take place until 1952. :3

Arnilo is also involved in this, somehow.

EDIT: Corrections to Arabic script; changed company colour to Maroon (Hex #800000)

Just finished these . Present day Rubway Airbus A350-900. Gave it a minimalist placard-on-white style many airlines are using nowadays. What do you think?

Oh dear, I'm so sorry I wasn't around earlier, I could have saved you so much work!

You see, while the livery looks quite nice, it's not quite the brand image that Rubway has in mind - unlike INU-Air, Rubway is a collaboration I'm doing with a friend of mine (working at Emirates, and himself the son of a former airline owner). Β Much of the airline brand and look is based on the colours of the various Qatari national flag designs - Qatari maroon, white and gold. (evolved from just Maroon in the mid-to-late 1940s liveries).

I have to admit, though, that this livery has some ideas and merits which I need to look into - it could possibly be something for a late-1990s and 2000/2010s-era livery. Β But I would have to discuss it with my friend.

Qatari-flagged theme livery? I think I have a few ideas in mind.

Is this okay for a present-day Air Rubway logo/placard?

Airway? In English an airway is a corridor of controlled airspace.

I are sorry, my Eengliesh, I run all out of it!

No, it's... I guess I had a bit of a blank moment there, my brains often tend to misfire in the early hours of the morning... >.<

Awesome! Small startup airlines are always interesting; it may be small now but many of today's airline behemoths also started as a small one-plane operation (Singapore Airlines with their single Airspeed Consul and Dragonair with their only 737-200 immediately come to mind)

I'm actually writing a short history of Rubway as an airline at the moment for my friend. Β It's an interesting story of a small airline, a big idea, some bad luck, and an incredible stroke of good fortune, too! :3

Awesome! Please drop me a link when done. Thanks.
One question though; will we see Rubway operating in the 21st century?

Sorry for the late reply - yes indeed, Air Rubway -Β Ψ·ΩŠΨ±Ψ§Ω† ربعواي - will go on to see action in the 21st century. Β Liveries and history are still in the early stages, but according to my friend's wishes, Maroon (Hex code #800000) does feature heavily in its livery (as you can notice).

I'm currently writing a number of chapters on the early history of the airline, however I haven't yet gotten further than 1951, by which time the airline consists of a DH-89A Dragon Rapide; two DH-104 Doves; a C-47 Dakota; a Bristol 170 Freighter; and an Avro York transport plane, and is just beginning to make the transition from a freight charter airline to a scheduled passenger airline with additional freight operations.

Why, thank you!!

I kind of have a weak spot for the Dragon Rapide; I think I'll try and research some real-world liveries again and slap some paint on some Rapides.

(That, and the Rapide just happens to be one of the simplest aircraft in FS9 to repaint XD )
