Thank you so much! Β  It was, I believe, her first self-portrait Β (while still in bed ?) after her accident.

I have done several collages of her, and under one "Fertilidad" I wrote:

"Her husband Diego Rivera had an affair with her sister Cristina which split the two and eventually his infidelity ended in divorce. It is said that she felt betrayed by the two people she loved most of all....she said she felt "murdered by life".
Though Frida Kahlo had wanted children, she never had any because of her many injuries. Though she conceived three times, all her pregnancies had to be terminated."

And I wrote for "The Cancerous Rose" Β Β

"This is a homage to the brilliant and gifted Frida Kahlo. Emotionally unflinching, direct about her pain and disfigurement, her childlessness and miscarriages, her unfaithful husband, her own affairs and herself as an artist. She depicted herself most frequently as unattractive, despite photographs that showed her otherwise. Her depression clearly colored her art, especially her view of herself. At times she saw a beautiful feminine woman, at other times she depicts a clear distortion of her image. She herself, was the template she mirrored her art upon." ~KM

I loved your deep perception about Frida Kahlo's art. I'm pretty sure Master Frida would be proud of such homage. Keep it up!

Thanks so very much! What a compliment! I haven't had a chance to sit down to write much of late, but these were of importance for me to explain!
