Um...you know...in Japan, the term "talent" (like Johnny's boys) refers to people who can't actually sing, but are there to be charming and likable role models. I'm sure NEWS knows they can't sing either. And I'd have to question whether you've ever heard actual good singing if you think Ryo's voice is even passable (Tegoshi's is, all the rest fail)

u've really got sum nerve. i happen to be a music major, and maybe you should know that in japan they have these things called dialects. ryo happens to have a kansai dialect. now let me explain to wat a dialect is, and i'll try to make it simple for you. Like in the U.S. people can have a country accent, a new york accent, or a detroit eccent,etc...these are all dialects. Ryo sings with a kansai dialect which really produces a forced kinda sound, but it's still good. Everyone of them can sing. And they can sing well. Massuda probably has the best voice out of all of them. So, are you seriously dumb or something? Maybe I should ask you if you have a musical ear because apparently you don't. Get some help with that incapable brain of yours.

You're obviously not a singing major, I assume? And uh, thanks for the info about the dialects. I've been living in Kansai for the past 3 months, I totally never knew about Kansai accents. And you know what? Hyde from L'Arc is from Kansai, and funny, he can ACTUALLY SING. I wonder how that works. Accents do not make you a terrible singer...unless accents make you unable to hit notes. Massu sings from his nose. That's the first thing in choir that they teach you NOT to do, I'm pretty sure.

Seriously, if Johnny's doesn't think they're good at singing, you don't need to defend them. There's a reason they're called "idols" and not "singers". Before you say anything, my concentration within my major is Japanese society and culture and I've researched and written papers about the idol industry. Are those enough qualifications for you?

I am a music major and how dare you try to say i'm not. He's a good singer and i'd hate to hear what you sound like.Okay, sure you've written a few papers, but do you honsetly think I care? Knowing about the stupid industry doesn't make you qualified to say what singing is. How can someone be so obnoxious? Seriosuly, what is your problem? he doesn't sing through his nose it's just the way he sounds. Have you heard him talk? You're no good and seriosuly not worth my time, but you're seriosuly pissing me off. Next your probably going to say that KAT-TUN can't sing or that Whitney Housten needs to find a new career.

...hahahaha, did you really just use KAT-TUN and Whitney Houston as examples in the same sentence (though I do hear that Whitney Houston requires major pitch adjustment during recordings)? And no, KAT-TUN can't sing. You know what, it doesn't matter if that's "just the way he sounds". It's called naturally not having a good voice. I'm not saying it's his fault or he doesn't work hard enough, he just wasn't born with a good singing voice, is all. Please don't let your love for their cute antics interfere with common musical sense. Even Japanese people (other than teenie boppers) don't think they're that good. And I'm a musician too. And no, I don't sing particularly well, but I can at least judge singing enough to know that. Also, I still sing better than them.

Anyways, yeah, let's just stop this conversation. It's never any use trying to hold a rational argument with a fan (there's a reason it's short for fanatic). But two more things:

1) How are you a music major at the age of 16?
2) Do you realize this is an art site? Not a Johnny's forum? And I obviously like NEWS, just not for their music.

did u seriously just say kat-tun can't sing? wooooow, o.O. Now i know that NEWS can sing because you sed that even kat-tun can't. wow. wow. wow.I doubt you could sing better than them. This idea is completly ridiculous. Earlier you said that Johnny's entertainment doesn't pick good singers, just good-looking guys, but there are plenty of ugly guys in Johnny's. Ok, the school I go to is a pretty big school that allows you to take college courses during junior and senior years at another branch of the school if your taking AP courses. Our school has many types of choirs, the lowest choir is Intermediate whcih is usually for freshmans or people who can't sing. The highest choir is The Chamber Choir which is for the musically gifted and you have to be able to sing and you have to take a test and get a score of 170 to get into. I am currently in the Chamber choir and have been since me sophmore year. if you don't beleive me, go to youtube and search for Jeff high chamber choir, i'm sure that we're on there and see if i'm qualified or not to say who has a good voice or not. We went to state and beat out 40 different schools. This is a rational argument, you have to have a fan to be able to defend them don't you. You can't have a good argument with two people who don't like them. The argument would be over too soon, beacause they would both agree that they're horrible. Which they are not. I'm going to stop now because your making me get a headache because your really pissing me off.

I had to interject myself here because I couldn't help but notice that your definition of an "(academic) major" is embarrassingly wrong.

You are 16. And I don't need to assume that you're still in high school since you state it quite clearly yourself.

To be a major in anything academic requires a higher education. Namely, to be enrolled in a college or university with an -official- statement to the school that you are focusing on a particular field of academia.

Your participation in the Chamber Choir is not an academic statement. In your case, it is a glorified extracurricular that will look very nicely on your college application, perhaps.

If none of that made sense, there's always Academic Major as defined on wikipedia.

I'm merely someone who's equally amused at your defense for JE bands and citing qualifications that really aren't. If you're going to cite anything, make sure you're citing them correctly.

And I'd like to say that in ~kanae 's case, her know-it-all speech is wholly justified in that she actually responded to you with correct grammar and spelling.

... just a thought really, in case you decide to wage internet war again in the future. Being literate? Is a good thing.

Really though--you mustn't grasp at straws like that. It's unseemly. There's nothing wrong with my spelling, least of all in that last sentence... unless, of course, you meant my grammar (for which the correct term would have been "grammar check"), but then again there is nothing wrong there either.

You should fix that bad habit of forming baseless accusations, really. Your attitude too, though I suppose that's asking for a bit too much. Anyway, feel free to salvage what remains of your credibility by running my supposedly erroneous syntax through a check if it makes you feel any better. Maybe babelfish, or something equally non-standard. That way, you'll have -at least- the slightest chance of seeing proper English marked as gibberish.
