The pattern of the wood is quite interesting. o.O
I really like the closeness and the general intensity here. It's pretty cool how it feels... warm? on account of the orange and all. The slight orange tinge contrasts with the blue quite well in that sense.
I do feel that the angle/point of view could be better... but the depth of field is lovely, regardless.

I think blue and orange are opposite one another on the color wheel and I always try to have some sort of color contrast in Photoshop

though I was speaking generally - the human touch is an important aspect of life. I could have sworn I saw a video of this experiment too way back when I was in high school - it involves babies that are deprived of the human touch who die shortly after the experiment begins.[link]
