this is great - i might have made the center North, South, East and West rods a tad darker - just a thought - might bring the eye to the center more often and a bit more strength to the balance of the work - ?

It's already being reworked in photoshop with heavier linework. It just doesn't feel as soulful though with the really clean lines..

Nice initial visual effect, but when one attempts to follow the knotwork, it breaks far too often. You have the basic idea down solidly. You just need to think through the cross-overs a little more carefully. I do like it as it is though.

This was nothing more than a doodle on scrap paper at lunch at work, that was supposed to have been redone.. I just got lazy and never went back over it.

Hrmmm.. I've been told I was an elephant. Would explain a great deal about myself. I'm glad you like it, I'm rather partial to it myself, which is why I saved the doodle instead of tossing it like I do so much stuff. And I never could quite bring myself to redo it on the computer... I don't know, just didn't feel as .. soulful in digital. Thank you for the comments.. they have been greatly appreciated as they were more than just.. fluff.

LOL.. I've tried. It doesn't break down near as well with PS or Illustrator as it does with a pencil, ruler and a multi-circle template. Each individual knot was a circle when it was born, if that helps.

I really like this oe alot...I like the cracked feel on the outer edge, it gives it
a very rough feel, although the picture is very chrisp.

Thanks. I'm trying to get a more stylized feel to pen and ink... Trying to get away from sharpies and get to better quality inks.

LOL.. the rough carpet dragon i did, it took me two days to get the sharpie smell out of my nose. I like acrylic inks very much.. they have the fluidity of ink, but float on top of the paper instead of sinking into it. I just don't have any examples because I gave them all away before I joined devart.

I particularly like nib pens, but it's really hard to control the flow of ink. I guess that would contribute to the organic feel of something. and maybe once a person got used to it, they might be able to control the line width a lot better.

Very good. I like the way the lines vary in length, but still be symmetrical. Awesome

Just a series of knots. Just about every culture has some kind of knotwork, line work in their past history. The celts just get more notice in today's world for it, I think. But it's derived from Germanic.. and it's derived from Norse.. and it's derived from.. ages past.
Thanks for commenting and thanks for the fav.
