this is one of the fav i've done for inktober 2019. might be my fav of all, looking at the list left.also, will definitely update on this compo onto digital. seeing that a few of the effects should be better conveyed through some photoshop/illustrator effects. we;ll see,

This is WAY cool!!! It's done so wonderfully and fits so perfectly! The legend of Ho-oh seems to be such a prevalent and GOOD legend, it's very fitting. I love this style and the darkness of it, it's beautiful

yes, drawing them directly would've been too much. i thought about simplified and stylized version... but in the end, designing them was just as much effort. xD

Gotta wonder who those three unnamed Pokémon were that died in the burning of Brass Tower before Ho-Oh resurrected them into the Legendary Beasts. For a long time it was assumed they were Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon respectively. But that one episode of Pokémon Generations that focused on the Ho-Oh legend revealed it actually wasn’t them.

i tried to put the eeveelution "legend" into this drawing. but it became too much work to compose, design and execute everything in one day. so i decided to just draw the beasts and hooh with the burning tower. i might do the eevees when i re-visit this in the future.
