yes it is a type of common baltic/northern spread race of Fen called Mahutts/small variations look the same and are called Mushkas- those are used to pull sleds- the larger are ridden some times and are the wide spread equivalent of the wolf in Rum- bascially the ground zero for all variations of Fen that eventually stem from it- so they all share the Mahutt as a common ancestor. (:

Ripur is known for having a very otherworldly connection with the Mahutts and mushkas of the Border forest- so often i draw him with them or surrounded by them, since he is almost always seen with them.

these mahutts sound interesting. do they act like the average dog and wolf? dog as in strays or do people actually rear them? play fetch? XD
anyways why is Ripur "red skinned" ??? in fact all your other ocs have very odd colour combos but yet u manage to use them so elegantly

They act very much like wolves and dogs actually! save for a few key differences (since they do have long beaks instead of muzzle)
and ah he is red skinned because he is a race of Northern Thrish who happened to have red skin (distantly related to the Los thrish of the straights)

well they actually arnt different species! they are all the same species, called Rumians- which are broken down into two races Thrish and Rexes. Then with those there are sub races- like how we humans are diverse depending on where we are from- so on and so forth. Major ones for Rexs are Pheasants, Royalls, Bric plumes and Black plume, and Tolken Rexs (the ones with the floppy fuzzy ears) these are all indigenous to the Baltic region. There are a few more break downs of these but i wont get into that. The other two are Ruth rex- who are desert born, and the Con Rex which are only found on the Heathrows Island-
As for Thrish There are Matra Thrish, who have a subrace known as Firi (the white ones) There are Notherners, Los Thrish, and then A variation of Ruth Thrish as well.
Its really not much different then how we humans have races like, Asians, african, indian and so on and so forth- the species itself is very similar throughout it (all share mostly the same traits) if that makes sense

I dont have any single point of inspiration, like many people who create worlds my inspiration is drawn from too many locations to count, only in minuscule amounts- basically inspired greatly from everything i experience in life.

as for the religion it woud take me a good while to explain it fully, since it deals with one- and then an unknown portion of it as well.

i drew mostly dragons and wolves when i was younger haha, and began drawing rumians when i was about 15- im 21 now
