*eyes perk up in amusement and interest*
Now THAT is fan art!
In my opinion, FeatherTits looks better this way.

Yea, but the thing that is most annoying is that Pitch is much more intimidating in the books, kind of a bummer that he was dumbed down for the movie.
Anyways, thank you!

Yeah... I had a nightmare where I had odd teeth jotting out of random places on my tongue. When I woke up, I was disgusted.

Cool. But not nearly as creepy as those nightmarish teeth you will see if you google up "trypophobia skull" XD

K-EL-P In reply to Carnie-Vorex [2014-08-12 00:52:00 +0000 UTC]
Actually that skull kind of inspired the idea of Toothiana being plagued by extra emerging teeth. I just didn't make as outrageously apparent as I could have.
Of course I cannot help but think how odd and unique it would be to run your tongue over your soft palate and feel nothing but rows of teeth. Imagine if you bit your tongue!

Carnie-Vorex In reply to K-EL-P [2014-08-12 01:22:54 +0000 UTC]
I thought it was inspired by shark teeth, them growing in several rows and all. It doesn't look like trypophobia much, at least to me (what frightens me most are the holes made by botfly maggots: trypophobia+maggots=AAARGH!!).
I find it unfortunate that humans don't have extra teeth or grow them back as adults. That means we were supposed to live no longer than 30 years or something. Biting your tongue sometimes is a lesser problem compared to the prices in dental clinics! XD

I know (and hate) Surinam toads since I had a children's encyclopedia about animals. Humans with skin diseases are way more gross, though. My other greatest fear is exactly that - deformed humans and becoming like that myself. Missing teeth look like a minor deformity too. People with six fingers or tails and hermaphrodites are okay, I'm not a big fan of humans anyway, but diseases and parasites look gross on any creature.
Holes instead of hyperdontia would be scarier for Tooth but wouldn't make a good piece of art. Black cavities in the skull itself, the skull decaying alive - oh gawd!Β Β Your art shows beautiful macabre nightmares but "medical" nightmares might be something Pitch wouldn't think of - he is not very familiar with mortal problems I guess... although I haven't read the books yet and don't know if he can read minds.

Hehe, I always like hearing about people's fears, especially if they are non-cliched ones.
To be honest, I am fascinated with those types of oddities. I enjoy watching documentaries about people with large growths, Progeria, Treeman, and so on. I wouldn't want to meet them in person because I would end up staring, then I would feel horrible for staring.
The Guardians of Childhood books are wonderful, I enjoyed them more than the movie. There are about 5 books in total and the artwork is incredible.

Those fears actual do seem rational, although most people would never admit to them because it isn't politically correct.
But the fear of the odd, deformed, or mentally compromised is natural I think. I have a terrible fear of pregnancy because when I see a woman who has a large round belly I cannot help but think her stomach is going to tear open and explode. Almost like the chestburster in the Alien movies.
I love spiders, they are lovely interesting little creatures.

Carnie-Vorex In reply to K-EL-P [2014-08-13 15:21:23 +0000 UTC]
Oh, the pregnancy! I completely forgot that! It's like getting infested with a parasite that's going to make you miserable for 9 months (nausea, leaking bladder, inability to sleep in any other pose than on your side), steal your health and beauty (extra fat, stretch marks, teeth and bones going bad as the little human larva takes the calcium for itself, breasts sagging in case of breast feeding), not even mentioning the pain of childbirth, sleep deprivation, stinking diapers and other "pleasures" a baby brings its mother. I don't even feel guilty for hating babies (it is said that baby squealing is the worst kind of noise, for the evolution made it so that our brain simply can't ignore it) and if I ever get wealthy enough to adopt a child, it's going to be 5 years old at least XD

K-EL-P In reply to Carnie-Vorex [2014-08-13 16:27:55 +0000 UTC]
Bahaha, yes I agree completely!!
People say babies smell so good. NO! Baby products smell good, babies smell gross.
Kids are more fun when they are 5 yrs old because they can talk, feed themselves, make up their own games, and that is the age were they think adults are the coolest.

Babies smell good for their own mothers, because chemistry. Maybe for other women with developed maternal instincts, but that's it. There are annoying mothers that think everyone appreciates their baby as much as they do - that's just one of the many sorts of narrow-minded people. I may sound like a hateful asshole, but I'd love to see a sign "No babies!" beside the usual "No dogs!" and "No smoking!" Mothers really shouldn't take them everywhere, and if they can't afford a nanny or something, that's the government's fault: if they want people to breed, they should make child-care more tolerable.
I honestly miss the ability to amuse myself without the computer, which I had as a kid. They don't need much (unless they're spoiled): some books and toys, some swings in the yard, a couple of buddies... Compared to them, adults are like black holes when it comes to consumption: always need more, always unhappy. Kids don't usually resort to comfort eating, in fact they don't really like to eat (unless it's sweet), and I miss that ability too XD

Recently in my town they have started creating child-free movie theaters and even adult-only hours at restaurants because several people don't know how to properly raise well behaved kids.
It is wonderful to watch movies and eat in peace!!
It is odd how just using your own imagination and/or sitting in silence has become nostalgic. At times, mostly at night, I enjoy just lying in bed and letting my mind drift.
I love technology and living in a well developed nation but you have a point about consumption. The one thing that infuriates me is seeing little kids get spoiled with new ipad, iphones, laptops, and even energy drinks and coffee.
