I blame the whiny old LPS fanboys who cry to Hasbro bitching and moaning about the new toys and wanting the old toys back.
They're the reason the show was cancelledΒ before airing its final season, and a feature film and an EQG/LPS crossover special isn't happening, and it won't be as longrunning as MLP. As well as the franchise being rebooted AGAIN as a pet-centric series.
