Description
This was created using a combination of photo manipulation and digital painting with Corel Painter and Photoshop from a photo I recently took of my wife.I wanted the emphasis on her face and messy wet hair, so I made the background and rest of her body more abstracted, with looser brushstrokes.
I've been loving working in this new digital style of muted colors. It's been feeling more and more as if I've finally been finding my "voice" as an artist.Β

This is beautiful! It's an interesting take on a mermaid. Her makeup is running, which you don't usually see (many people show them as being perfect). I kind of like the human aspect that is shown in this

It's interesting when mermaids are portrayed as something not quite human, well they aren't human but they usually look quite human and so I tend to like it when the more animalistic side is explored. This seems to have a kind of balance.
