Description

Name: UNI-PDR

Class: Insufficient Data **Adherent truth-bearer**

Planet of Origin: Khopesh VII

Size: Variable Minimum: 5km Maximum: Unknown, reported 650,000km

Generation: 2nd Generation

The “straight man” of the group I have chosen to interview, PDR organizes the Adherents in SCR’s stead, with a steady, methodical hand. She’s also taken the scripture of her master a bit more seriously than the others, adorning her tabard with the minutiae of the cult’s beliefs and traditions. Mixed in are the systems presumably under her control: I lost count of the exact number around the low hundreds. As predicted, she started our conversation by dragging me through the coals over my intentions and if I had been followed before opening up a little more about the nature of their organization and their flight from the empire. I couldn’t help admire her passion and dedication to the cause, if a bit overzealous.

The initial class of PDR has been difficult to identify, as she displays hallmarks of a number of more combative types, but without the inherent, ingrained aggression. There is no doubt she has seen some sort of UNI-on-UNI conflict however -could she be the one responsible for the loss of the Imperial expedition out this way?

Name: UNI-BSM

Class: Non-Specialized  **Adherent truth-bearer**

Planet of Origin: Unotas

Size: Variable Minimum: 200km Maximum: Unknown, greatest reported 0.25ly

Generation: Early 1st generation

Upon arrival to the designated system it first appeared that there were no UNI present, and the captain feared that we had made a wrong turn in our travel to Adherent territory. That is, until the entire system fell into shadow, the stars blotted out completely about us. BSM is enormous! I have never seen an UNI so large myself, and much less suspected one to be lurking in this backwater splinter group, with our meeting system tucked neatly under her bust. Neither have I ever encountered an UNI so obsessed with her own (admittedly voluptuous) form. After she assumed a more reasonable scale straddling a sizable gas giant, she would not settle, constantly shifting, running an idle hand over her body, absent-mindedly squeezing and lightly riding the protesting planet smothered beneath her. It seems as though she has joined SCR out of boredom and a vested interest in the more physical aspects of its operation. It’s understandable that this relaxed, sensuous, effortlessly powerful being could be a great “motivator” for more converts to SCR’s cause.

Name: UNI-CHR

Class: Administrat  **Adherent truth-bearer**

Planet of Origin: Kamina’s Garden

Size: Variable Minimum: 50m Maximum: 25km

Generation: 3rd Generation

I think CHR made eye contact with me about three times over the course of our conversation! It’s hard to imagine but I think the 500m, nigh impervious alien sitting across from me was a little anxious! She hid it with a lot of bluster and a cavalcade of technical questions concerning my research vessel, but it was pretty obvious that she wasn’t much used to interacting with people in the flesh. Indeed, she seemed a lot more comfortable nestled down behind her holoscreen, scanning my ship’s schematics than she was illuminating me on her role.

CHR is the one who ensures the temple-colonies of SCR run nice and smoothly, deploying advanced algorithms and personally modifying social and administrative strata she deems “inefficient”. As someone who deals more so in hard data than more nuanced language, she struggled a bit to articulate the exact details, but the flush she developed while grasping at the right words was… endearing.

Name: UNI-ZAN

Class: Psion  **Adherent truth-bearer**

Planet of Origin: Illiran IV

Size: Variable Minimum: 100m Maximum: 10,000km (greatest reliably reported 500km)

Generation: Late 2nd Generation

This one was a little different. Not a single word was spoken aloud between us, but I found myself able to understand ZAN completely as she took me into her palm and lifted me up to her great, placid face, obscured as it was by the cloth she often wraps herself with. She is a psion, and a potent one at that, as even under her split attention I was nearly overwhelmed by the raw volume of information and emotion she initially poured into my mind. After a profuse mental apology and a further trimming of her communication, we were able to commune more freely.

ZAN is an exceptionally gentle soul -a rarity amongst the UNI, though a welcome bit of respite in these tumultuous times. Touching the minds of whole planets at a time, she is able to readily study their thoughts, needs and wants, giving her an intimate understanding of the smaller races that far outstrips her massive peers. Unfortunately this power is sometimes used to report dissent and traitorous leanings in the population, and ZAN cannot bear to be present when the population faces the apocalyptic consequences of their betrayal, and the overwhelming distress she can’t help but absorb.

At the end of our “talk” (which only took about 3 seconds) ZAN, with a sheepish smile, told me that she would have to poke around a little to make sure I wouldn’t lead any Imperial UNI to their little slice of the tetraxy. Before I could say anything I blacked out completely, and regret to report that neither myself nor my crew have any recollection of our interviewee’s whereabouts, just the warm, suffocating pressure of an alien mind pressing down on our memory.

In an effort to gauge approachability and public interest in each of these subjects, I have been requested to include a datafile link to earlier entries Here  as well as a general population poll to determine the favourite via this galactic network link:  strawpoll.com/81dhx88r
