From since she first knew what a human was, they fascinated young HUM. It was obvious to her, hailing from the shared Imperial and Federation sector of the Expansion Belt, that their races were more closely intertwined than one might first suppose. Not particularly large, and with no exceptional powers of her own, she happily accepted a position on a xenobiology research team headed by some of the Empire's top minds. It was during her cataloging of various cultures and civilizations across the Agora that HUM began to take a particular liking to humanity. They were "cute" to her in their own quaint way, and the ins-and-outs of their intricate societies were stimulating to say the least!
Quickly, she began to specialize, coordinating with human scientists from both within and without the Federation to gather the largest volumes of human knowledge as of yet assembled: The "Lexicanum Sapiens" Which was swiftly broken down into more manageable chunks and has since been distributed all across the Tetraxy. Most fell into the hands of other interested species scattered across the stars, but a fair number were snatched up by UNI who work more closely with the Federation as well as unaffiliated colonies of humanity. Particular bestsellers in the Empire include: "How to deal with outliving humans", "Most common Human holidays and how to take part too!" as well as the infamous "So you stepped on a city: what now?" that was a court mandated read for the unwitting vandal Exerisia after her "accident" on Meyret I.
With the commercial and academic success of her initial studies, HUM has since occupied a backwater system with a small dedicated team of her own, christening the main superterrestrial planet "Albion". On this planet lie a number of independent human colonies, either voluntary immigrants flocking to the degree of protection HUM can provide them in a turbulent galaxy, or forcefully relocated from a planet that was deemed suitable for UNI habitation. Once on-planet, they are studied at every level by HUM, from their biology, religion and healthcare structures, to trend patterns and even meme culture!
Where they may have once feared the UNI that took their home planet from them, most of the humans on Albion are comforted by the sight of HUM smiling down at them while jotting notes, instead of anticipating their imminent crushing.
Made as a comm for who is creating HUM as his OC!
