Description We need to learn and get knowledge in the individualism society we live in. Just don't forget, aside the individualism, you need to learn to be happy with your life and enjoy your life. Don't forget it. (That's why the cut is there as well)

Thank you for making this piece of art and then having your saying underneath it. It really means a lot to people like me, who have been surrounded by people who were depressed enough to hurt themselves, and also struggled to stay on top of all that.
I think that your "quote" of sorts is one of Life's many great lessons.

Great. Another pseudo-intellectual neo-artistic drawing of arbitrarily placed geometric shapes that somehow symbolizes vague and unapparent 'problems' of the human condition.

Jurryt In reply to Dragon-Paragon [2010-03-02 22:24:39 +0000 UTC]

Great. Another stuck-up vocabulary monster who believes he has the appropriate level of skill and knowledge to comment. Aside that, the most realistic drawings are definitely the most emotional ones with the greatest direct emotional hit in someones mind.

And wow, manga is great emotion!

Oh, my dear, dear, Jurryt, it isn't my skill or knowledge that allows me to comment, but that little button at the bottom of the page that says 'send'. Your judgments, aside from being fairly subjective and horridly articulated, are also substantially misguided. You've assumed that, because I don't like your work (as everybody OBVIOUSLY should) I must therefore be a fan of the things you don't like.

Believe what you will. I'd like to point out that thinking should be done with your mind, not your emotions.

Jurryt In reply to Dragon-Paragon [2010-03-03 01:04:56 +0000 UTC]

you are talking about rational and irrational stuff. Art could be both or just one of them.

Im not saying you should like my work, I'd like to hear why you think its too artistic for you

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Paragon In reply to Jurryt [2010-03-03 01:26:11 +0000 UTC]

I believe too much emphasis is placed on emotion. The picture makes an unclear statement with little to no perceived correlation to something that is a common problem to the average person. It's like the artistic version of a cold-reading.

That, and "following your happiness" is advice so cliched I started hating it in high school. But, that's hardly your fault, now, is it?

Jurryt In reply to Dragon-Paragon [2010-03-03 01:38:36 +0000 UTC]

Well, as a CEO and creative director at 2 companies at this age, I can say that here in the NL business life is hard and sometimes destryoing. Working 80 hours a week at least forget everything else and forced to forget anything else. Its too black and white.

To not forget its hard to get out of the business and do enjoy stuff I usually did before. To me, its definitely not basic.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Dragon-Paragon In reply to Jurryt [2010-03-03 21:26:08 +0000 UTC]

Too black and white? An interesting choice of words. It would seem as if you don't truly enjoy what you do. If following your happiness is truly not basic to you, then why do you subject yourself to 80 hours a week of work you really don't seem to like?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jurryt In reply to Dragon-Paragon [2010-03-03 21:28:10 +0000 UTC]

I dont say hard business is not enjoyable, but I do notice the things that are negative with it as well. And I can see it more and more around me: it doesnt me I am happy.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Paragon In reply to Jurryt [2010-03-03 21:39:24 +0000 UTC]

Then why not just leave the CEO work and stick to being a creative designer? The situation seems rather unnecessary.

Im too capitalistic and as I told you, it's hard to leave the business world when you are in . That's the whole 'painful thing'

So true. Life should be enjoyed, even if there is misery all over the globe. It's surprising how much you can achieve if you just take a step out once in awhile to work on "you". If its time to travel, learn something new, or just chill out away from the hustle and bustle, you can really see where you're at. You can be happy for yourself, and maybe that happiness will rub off on someone else.

How did you get the rough angled shadow lines? They work well with this. I usually go for a more form shaped shadow, but the chaotic shading fits with you message.

More like, "don't worry, be happy" uh? Yeah, is we screw other people thoughts and focus on being alright maybe we all be alright, and if there's some arguing about someone's happiness, find another way.

Good picture, but I don't quite get the metaphor. How is a cut hand symbolic of being happy and enjoying your youth? Are you warning against teens cutting themselves and giving into depression rather than enjoying themselves? And what exactly is "individualism society"? Do you mean "individualist society"?

Yes, we could all be happier, but I see a disconnect between the message you're trying to espouse and the picture.
