Theme 4: Dark
Title: The good old days
- - - - For this theme I had to create something relating to dark. The idea came to me pretty easily, but just the matter of actually drawing it out took quite some time. The whole idea was mostly inspired by the twisted tale of the anime "Higurashi no naku koro ni". I had another idea that i wanted to do for this theme but it would've likely taken me too long to finish, so i went ahead with this route.

Hello, this is ~glarionac from #the-OC-maniac 's critic crew... (like yourself? >w>) and you 've requested to get a critic, so yeah, here comes the critic.
I think the pic you made here unusually relates to the theme well. I mean, we can thisnk of good old days in different ways than the others, and this particular interpertation (made me gasp in surprise and) is interesting to me. You added the blood effect efficiently, not too much to make it overwhelmingly bloody but not too little to make people wonder if the people lying there are actually dead. I personally like the axe, though. The blood and some scratches you put on it made it look pretty realistic. The shadows are smooth and placed neatly here and there, the lighting is nice, though you can make it gloomier to add to the mood. And you captured the shocked expressions of the victims very well.
If there's anything that I can critic, it would probably be the shading on the boy with green t-shirt. If the light comes from above the trees, which also means above his head, and with the position of his head that to me looks like he's looking down...I think we'll see the shadows on his face. His face should be dark, along with the front side of his shirt, rather shadowy. If you meant to make as if he's looking up, the light can work. But that means you should change the position of his hair. So it's either fixing the light or fixing his hair/ head position. One more thing...I think you should add some scars along with the blood. It doesn't look quite right to me that they seemed like they were killed with an axe, but I see no scar on their bodies. They're just like...bloody.
That would be all, I guess. Other than that, this is a very good picture with nice combination of effect, expression, poses, and textures. I'm sorry if there are words of mine that are insulting or harsh. I tries my best not to do that, really.

Yeah most of the stuff you pointed out I actually noticed them but it was when after I uploaded it that i noticed those similar problems and at that point I didn't wanna go back to it. I just wanted to move on. But I'll make sure next time that I do a much better and thorough work!
