When you're faceposing, instead of bringing up the q menu to view the sliders for posing, you can hold c to bring up a mini menu that allows you to view the face you're manipulating while it shows the sliders at the same time.
Also, if you're using tf2 ragdolls, never use the pre-made expressions.
